This month’s Allure Magazine features an interesting article on dermatologist Dieter Manstein, inventor of CoolSculpting. “While researching new ways to reduce fat without a scalpel, Manstein, an assistant professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School, realized he was going about it wrong. Rather than melting the fat as other procedures do, what if he chilled it?”
CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to target and crystallize fat cells in the flanks and abdominal area (affectionately known as love handles and muffin tops), as well as bra bulges on the back, inner and outer thighs, the upper part of the back of the thigh (banana roll), and arms. These “frozen” fat cells targeted in treatment gradually die off and are naturally eliminated from your body. In the weeks and months following treatment, remaining fat cells condense, reducing the fat layer and revealing a slimmer you.
